Report on previous lead status

Hi

I'm looking to assess the success rate of certain leads by determining a sales conversion rate at each stage of contact.

The best way i can think of to do this, is to see what the lead status was prior to successful sale.

Is there any way to generate a report on the previous status of a lead?
