Response Order for Inserting Leads

When inserting leads using the api you receive a response with the ID of the lead. Is here any way to determine the correct order or match the lead you inserted to the ID? They appear to be coming back in numerical order that doesn't correlate to the order the leads were submitted in. I'm inserting multiple leads per request.
