Running item reports that include NON inventory items.

Hi folks,
I am new to reports and struggling a little to understand them.

I seem to be able to graph my top 10 product sales per month no problem, as long as they are items we track inventory of.
However, I can’t find a way to show the top sales of NON inventory items, or services such as “labour” for example.

I dont know if this is enough information for anyone to help, or wether someone will say “H, I had that problem” and recognise the issue.
