Be it in a chat with the boss or among colleagues, we've all been there—embarrassing, mortifying typos.
Though we try to pass it off as a joke, it still is embarrassing.
As a good smooth fix for this, the Cliq team has brought in the much requested feature— editing a sent message!
Yes, you will now be able to edit the messages you have sent in one-on-one chats, group chats and channels, across Cliq web application, desktop apps and mobile apps .
Just hover on the message you want to edit, choose Edit Message from the message actions and proceed. The edited message will appear with a tag (Edited) so that one can easily know of it. Also a quick shortcut for you—just click up arrow key to edit the recently sent message in that chaat.
Owing to the business nature of Cliq, the older versions of edited messages will be preserved for reference. In web and desktop apps, clicking on the (Edited) tag will display the edited history of that message. In mobile app, tap on the message, select More and choose View Edits.
Right now the timeframe to edit a message sent by you is 2 days. We are working on providing this as a configuration that the admin can enable or disable. So admins, stay tuned :)
