Scheduled calls not showing up in upcoming activities

Hello. I am trying to use the Calls function in activities rather than marking it as Tasks. Why isn't a scheduled call for a future date no showing us as upcoming Activity on the top of the page as does the future task schedules? This is an issue because when looking at an account that has a future call scheduled, there isn't a upcoming event bar at the top of the page which is deceiving. Please address or explain by this is the case.
