Search not working

I have been having issues with my search function for quite some time, it works on and off. Today it's not working at all eg, I search douglas, trevor, taylor; all recent customers who have ordered and nothing comes up. Even the words 'order' and 'and' don't work, nothing. Could you please look into this for me?
