I want to search records where field value is empty/null using API V2 to include multiple criteria

Is it possible in API v2 to search records which have a field with empty/null value? 

something like this:

https://www.zohoapis.com/crm/v2/Leads/search?criteria=((Lead_Source:equals:null))

How do we filter the null values then?
