Select multiple emails on iPad mobile site

Select multiple emails on iPad mobile site

Why is it when I view my emails on my iPhone, I can check multiple emails and delete them at once. However, when I view emails from my iPad, there is no way to select multiple messages. I have to delete them one at a time.  How long until check boxes appear next to each message on an iPad?
