Can you consider investigating into the feasibility of sending text messages through Zoho Email? A number of your peers like AOL India have already ushered into this and you should jump into the foray and race ahead too.

With US providers everyone provides an email capability to mobiles. In India too I believe quite a number of operators do have this feature. Definitely a good channel for you to explore and implement.
