Seperate Created Date from Created Time

I am unable to generate a report (and chart) on our leads to see how many leads we generate per day over a given period of time.. for example...

14/07/2010 = 5
13/07/2010 = 2
12/07/2010 = 7
11/07/2010 = 1
10/07/2010 = 9
etc etc

It is not possible to run reports on how many leads were generated each day over a given period, due to the fact that the "Created Time" field contains both Date and Time.

14/07/2010 10:34 AM = 1
14/07/2010 10:32 AM = 1
14/07/2010 10:30 AM = 1
14/07/2010 10:28 AM = 1
14/07/2010 10:26 AM = 1
13/07/2010 07:01 AM = 1
13/07/2010 07:59 AM = 1
etc etc

I have contacted support who suggested "As a work around you can create a date field in the leads and enter the created date manually while entering the leads".

Since the date is in a standard format xx/xx/xxxx it wouldnt be complicated for the developers to create a reference for the date alone.

I hope this (standard) "feature" will be available soon.
