Hi MH gurus,
I just discovered a serious bug with regards to how bounces are handled in MH - at least with 'reminder' actions. When a bounce is detected on a lead in a journey, the journey continues to email to that bounced address, which results in yet more bounced.
For example, I have a journey with opening email (let's called it Email1) that sends out an email to 300 people and gets 13 hard bounces.
The journey then has a 'reminder' action which is activated for people do not open the message (let's call the email from the reminder Email2). Email 2 is sent to the 150 people that did not yet open Email1... INCLUDING ALL 13 LEADS WITH BOUNCES. This means I get another 13 bounces to outgoing emails, but at a higher bounce ratio.
All mailing engines should immediately flag bounced email addresses and stop sending to them. This is to protect our email delivery rates in the longer term.
Can MH please confirm if bounces are immediately withdrawn from all journeys and actions in MH, or if MH will continue to try and email bounced leads. The alternative is that this is just a glitch with the 'reminder' node.
If journeys do continue to email out to leads with bounced emails, I will need to stop all journeys and discontinue MH until this is fixed.
If it is limited to 'repeat' action nodes, I can let this slide - but it means no more new journeys can be created with that action type, and no new leads can be added to the MH environment until it is resolved.
This is a really urgent issue to get resolved.
