Setting recurring tasks and reminders in tasks module are enhanced in Zoho CRM
In this post we will brief you on the enhancement in creating a recurring task and setting up reminders. Let's take a look at the what has been changed.
Recurring tasks can be set using Due Date
Earlier, to create a recurring task you specified the Start Date, End Date, and the appropriate Repeat Type. Now, the start date field is removed and instead you have to specify the Due Date. The task will be repeated based on the mentioned due date.
Custom repeat types can be configured
In addition to the default repeat types such as Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly you can now configure custom repeat types. This allows you to choose the frequency in which the tasks should be repeated. The frequency can be daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can specify to exclude tasks during weekends or holidays. If a recurring task's due date falls on a non-working day, you can skip that by checking the next business day option.
- For daily, you can specify the number of days after which the task should be repeated.
For weekly, you can specify the number of weeks after which the task should be repeated along with the exact day.
For monthly, you can specify the number of months after which the task should be repeated along with the date or the day of the month.
For yearly, you can specify the date or day and the month in which the task should be repeated.
Editing the repeat type after task is created
Now, you can edit the repeat configuration of a the recurring task after its created.
Stop recurring tasks
For example, if you have created a task that repeats daily from 23-04-2019 to 30-04-2019. You can edit the repeat configuration.
Now, you can delete a recurring task that has already begun. This option will also let you remove the upcoming tasks lined-up in the repeat sequence.
Enhancements in Reminders
You can choose the reminder for a task from the following options:
- on a particular date and time
- number of days/weeks/months before the due date at a specific time.
- Update or disable reminders
You can modify or disable reminders for a task. In case of a recurring task, you can even apply the newly configured reminders to the upcoming tasks.
Earlier, notifying owner was just like any other field. Once enabled, a notification email was sent to the record owner.
Now, you can notify the record owner in the following cases:
