Should i be using Campaigns or Marketing Automation for Existing Client Email Blasts?

My Company has 2 marketing arms: On one hand we are marketing to leads. posting on social media etc to drum up new clients, tracking website usage etc. all with the purpose of new sales development.
on our other hand our marketing team is trying to keep current and existing clients engaged with us by sending newsletter, release update announcements, upcoming events, etc. all geared toward targeting existing clients and getting them to stay current with our Prodcut and company development. For this we are thinking maybe CRM Campaigns or Zoho Campaigns as we dont need as many tracking and engagement features since these emails are predominantly informational to existing clients.
My question is What platform makes the most sense to engage this type of marketing. Zoho marketing automation limits our leads to 10k per seat, so i am thinking it does not make sense to take up lead space with existing clients. Whereas marketing campaigns and the CRM dont appear to have such limits.
Does it make sense to break up our marketing like this across 2 platforms or should we really be using one or the other? What platform is best suited to engage with existing clients and do outbound lead gen marketing.
