This feature request is based on a vague idea to populate the create entity button with options which would mirror layout types and rules. Probably more complex because of permissions.

The need stems from my original post:

I envision this as generic feature for any record though.

Something similar can be achieved through layout rules tied to a field but that's not the same experience as suggested here.
