Simple, Secure File Sharing with Password Protection
Now with Zoho Docs, you can set up a password and an expiry date to your document and share it with anyone.
The benefits of this functionality are:
You can share your confidential document as a link with the password protection.
Send large files quickly and easily as a link with password protection.
You can set an expiration date to the link, which will make the link inaccessible after the set expiration date.
Here's how you can do it:
1. Select the document which you would like to share as a link with password protection and an expiry date.
2. Click on the "
Share " button in the toolbar.
3. In the Share Settings dialog box, click on the down arrow next to the "
Document Visibility " settings.
4. Choose either '
Public on the Web with Password protection ' (password and expiry date) or '
Public on the web ' (expiry date only).
5. Set the password, expiry date and click on "
Save ".
Now you can copy the link and share it with others. Or, you can just click on the "Send Mail" option available next to the link, enter the recipients email addresses and send it across. Please note that you need to share the password set for that link with the recipients, so that they will be able to access the document using that password. You can also change the expiration date anytime by following the same steps.
