Someone is using my e-mail for SPAM!!

I haven't had this e-mail account for too long and already I am getting notices of 'undeliverable' mail - which is showing that someone seems to be using my e-mail account for SPAMMING others!!!

Is there anything that can be done about this? And, how can this happen?
