sorting a text list

Good Afternoon,
Tried and tried,to no avail. All I want to do is alphabetize a text list.
I find no recognized info on this subject, from instructions or forums. Is this a sore subject,? Your help to this subject would be appreciated. Also,how would I find the answer
to other questions without having to go to a forum? As you know the explanations to an application can be very confusing. Thank you All....Rich
