Due to my client's company policies, I'm sometimes asked to split a large invoice into multiple invoices.

For example, if I send an invoice for $13,000 and the client asks me to split the invoice into multiple invoices that are $5000 or less, I would have to create 3 invoices. Two $5,000 invoices and a third $3,000 invoice.

Currently, the only way I know how to do this is to clone the original $13,000 invoice twice and painstakingly remove items from each until I wind up with 3 invoices that are $5,000 or less—while being very careful not to accidentally delete or not delete items in each.

Isn't there a better way to do this? 

Note that my client needs 3 separate invoices so taking partial payments against the same invoice isn't a solution for this situation.
