Every business is unique with its set of requirements or needs. As customisation has become a powerful key in building a more dynamic CRM, we are working on sprucing up a few minute, yet useful features in Zoho CRM. Zoho CRM lets you create new button actions with the help of Custom Buttons. Use Custom Buttons to perform a predefined set of actions based on your requirements.
With the help of Custom Buttons in Zoho CRM, you can:
- connect your CRM with third-party applications
- connect different Zoho CRM modules
- connect with other Zoho applications in seconds.
Let's look at a use case. You're working as an administrative assistant in a private insurance company. Being an administrative assistant is a taxing job - managing and distributing information within the entire organization, verifying the CRM data accuracy, overseeing and prioritizing leads everyday, and optimizing and customizing the system. Not to mention, tracking sales leads and closing deals.
Let's say you have converted a lead to a contact. All of a sudden, the lead changed his/her mind seeing alternative offers and showed no interest in being a client. Now, you have to revert the contact back to a lead. Is this even possible? Once you convert a lead into a contact, you cannot change it back to a lead again. If so, you must delete the contact and add the lead manually again. This process is time-consuming and tedious. With the help of the custom button in the Utility menu, you can create a custom action that adds it as a new record in the leads module.
Let's get started. Create a custom button and place it in the utility menu with three simple steps.
- First, log in to Zoho CRM as an Administrator
- Select the required module from Setup > Customization > Modules and Fields -->List of Modules.
- Create your Button, from Links and Buttons -->Create New Button and specify the following details:
- the button name.
- description for the button
- and choose the location of your custom button as Utility Menu.
