Switching from RingCentral to Zoho Voice
Hello, team!
I'm so glad to see that SMS support was added to Zoho Voice! I am on Zoho One, and although I know ZV isn't part of it, being developed by the same company is so promising in terms of the best Zoho integration, compared with third-party solutions that I've been using.
I'm on RingCentral now (after also trying JustCall, GoTo, and Vonage) and want to switch to ZV. RingCentral has been around for a long time, and, being one of the pioneers, has many things checked off and figured out already, but I believe ZV can catch up.
So, I have a few things to check on before making the switch. I studied the knowledge base first.
1. As I understood, there is a way to make ZV SMS part of a workflow to automate sending, similar to what we can do with emails. It's not as straightforward and will require writing custom functions but I can live with it. My most common use case is sending a birthday SMS when a contact is missing an email address.
2. Are SMS messages listed/displayed directly in a lead/contact CRM record? In general, it would be easier to manage all from CRM instead of Zoho Voice window—less jumping back and forth.
3. Are there SMS templates to pick from when composing?
4. Is it possible to send a group SMS to several numbers when composing?
5. Similarly, is it possible to check multiple contacts from a CRM list and then start an SMS message so it goes to them? For example, when I have a photo gallery to announce to the event guests who had given me their numbers for a follow-up.
6. Can a copy of client SMS also be sent to my email?
7. I doubt that a voice call can switch from VoIP to a cellular network as RingCentral and GoToConnect do.
I understand if some things need more time for implementation. Hopefully, it won't take years. :) Thank you for bringing this essential product to the Zoho ecosystem!
