System performance in Leads

Hi
I successfully imported over 150 leads in to the system without any problem. However, when I try to manipulate the list any way (delete records, navigate back and forth, sort etc., the machine CPU usage goes to 100% and everything sort of hangs. After waiting for about 1-2 minutes everything gets back to normal until the next command. Not sure what is causing it - may be refresh of the charts in the bottom of the screen, or any other background process.
Environment:
Machine: Compaq Presario
OS: Windows XP Home edition
Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.2
