Has anyone found a way to limit the choices in a particular single select field based on the ROLE of the user, not a dependency on another field?

E.g. We have two user types: Sales, Admin.

I want Sales folks to only see a call disposition relevant to their tasks rather than having to select a task type of "Sales" 

This is all about saving clicks.
