So right now, we only have the ability to assign tasks to specific users. Whether through a workflow, through a macro, etc.
Well, recently in the Potentials Module (Which we call the Sales Module), we created a lookup field called "Case Manager". Then in order to assign each sale to a specific person, I had to create another module called directories and create all of our users in there again as records so that they could be selected. The problem is, tasks have to simply be assigned by user, not by case manager which is what we need.
The reason I couldn't just use the sale owner is because we have a breakdown of who can and can't see specific fields, and that is built in as who the record owner is, so there isn't a way to use a look-up field to specificy a user. (Which would be nice).
Bottom-line:
Make it so that tasks can be dynamically assigned to users by certain criteria on a given page. So in this case, I need to assign the user based on who the case manager is.
Otherwise, I have to deal with everyone manually re-assigning tasks constantly.
