Tasks - start and due date cannot be changed

Tasks - start and due date cannot be changed

I experience the following troubles with the trial version:
Although I enter a current task with certain dates (f.i. 08/25/2005 for start and due date), the appearing due date in the task list is always 01/01/1970, whatever I try to change.
What is wrong?
