Templates delivered to Gmail then forwarded = Odd Line Breaks

I am having trouble using Templates, which deliver to me via email (using Gmail) that I then edit and forward on to clients. When I forward the email, strange line breaks are occurring making the text difficult to read. From my end, everything looks fine before I hit Send, but clients reply and are confused and I can see that the text is broken up. 

How to I prevent this?
