testing account for CRM API

I am using the CRM API (on a client's account, not this one), to upload data to Zoho.

Is there a way to create a separate testing area where I can interact with the API without touching me live data without setting up and paying for another subscription?

I can't find any reference reference to a test mode for the Zoho API.
