"The Chicken or the Egg" - Zoho or Outlook first?

I am starting from scratch moving from an unproductive paper calendar based CRM. I originally intended to work from Office for Mac 2011 and Outlook. I ran into a friend who uses Zoho for his marketing. I am building my electronic contact list and needing to focus on the sales & management process while doing so (got to make a living while doing this), which should I focus on first, Outlook or Zoho? And maybe a practical how to suggestion too...
