Thunderbird: "Cannot connect securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm (error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)

As the subject says, I have started to get this error when i poll emails using Thunderbird 3

"An error occurred during a connection to pop.zoho.com:995
Cannot connect securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm
(error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap) "

I changed the connection settings from SSL/TLS to STARTTLS, but it makes no difference.
Also, very often I am getting timeouts.
I am connecting from Tokyo.
Have you done some software update on your mail servers or have you taken down any server in the asian region?
