I am a recent switcher from Wave Apps and I operate a tech support business. It would be great to be able to clock in and out of visits to clients without having to set up a project for each time id like to log time. So at the moment I can't use the timers features at all.

In an ideal world I would have the ability to 'clock in' to a client and that client would have an hourly rate set - and then I could generate an invoice from that clocking in and out using a timer. At the moment because projects are needed it makes it too cumbersome to use like this.

Instead I use hours tracker app (which is perfect for this) and then manually make each invoice.

Many people work on a timed basis but without projects or specific tasks (Consultants, teachers, trainers etc) and just have hourly charges to make. Im sure there are plenty of people in this same situation where projects do not make sense. I get they are useful for actual projects but for most small businesses, freelancers and sole traders the experience is more complicated than just manually creating invoices.

Id love to know what people think. - Ive not seen a single invoice platform figure this out properly yet and all seem to use the projects model - I feel like small businesses and sole traders are kind of left behind by many of the zoho products (another example is having to generate reports in zoho expenses and not just being able to upload expenses and have them automatically reflect in the zoho books figures without having to go through the pain of making a new report to do so - this IS done by most other expenses platforms -  The ability to have reports that need approval should just be a feature that can be turned off as approval processes are used mostly by larger companies and us smaller entities are essentially asking ourselves to approve our own expenses that we have uploaded ourselves - again it makes it another long and messy process for something that should be really simple.

Hope there's a renewed focus on making zoho apps work for us guys too - love the new look and feel of everything and the hard work that's going in to them but would love some refocus on the smaller peeps too.
