Tip #2: Learn more about your customer



Anyone booking an appointment with you can turn into a long-term customer for your business. Booking forms can help you take a small step in this process.

 

Apart from the name, email, and contact number, you can add your questions of your choice to the booking form. Tweaking your questions to be more specific can help the customers who find it difficult to articulate their pain points and requirements.


Let's say you are providing a car wash service. In the booking form, you may include questions like:

  1. What is your vehicle type and model?

  2. What is your license plate number?

  3. Do you have any special instructions?

  4. Are there any other services you are interested in?

This helps you gather useful information before an appointment starts so you can provide a great customer experience. 

You can add questions according to your consultation type. Zoho Booking provides seven types of fields:

  1. Single line: For short answers

  2. Multi-line: For multiple lines of info (works well with questions like, "Do you have any special instructions?")

  3. Alternative email address: Enables customers to add another email address

  4. Checkbox: Enables customers to choose multiple options

  5. Dropdown: Ensures customers choose only one option from a list

  6. Radio button: Allows customers to choose a single option

  7. Date: Gives customers the ability to choose a date



Steps to add questions to your booking form:

  1. Select Services on your Bookings menu bar.

  2. Choose the required service from the left sidebar. Then select Service Booking Form. 

  3. Click the Add Field button in the right corner.

  4. In the dialog box, enter the Field Label and choose the Field Type. Select the Mandatory checkbox if you'd want to ensure customers fill out the field.

  5. Click Save. You can preview your booking page to see how it looks.
