Hello everyone!
We're back with another interesting WorkDrive tip for you all. In case you want to view our previous articles in the Tips and Tricks series, you can find them here.
Creating embed codes for your files and folders helps you and your team members share content on your website, social media profiles, and other third-party sites. Linking data through this embedding process will help you control your files from the backend, even after posting them on a public page. The changes made in your WorkDrive files will automatically reflect wherever you have pasted the embed codes.
WorkDrive allows you to create embed codes for all 160+ supported file types. You can create only one embed code for a single file or folder. However, you can use the same code on multiple sites.
How to create an embed code for a file or folder:
Select the required file or folder, and choose the "New Embed Code" option from the More actions menu.
You can then copy your created embed code to any site or blog, where site visitors can view and download the data.
Deleting an embed code in WorkDrive will automatically restrict user access to the embedded file or folder.
Also, when the External Sharing function is restricted to your team or a particular Team Folder, you will not be able to create embed codes for the documents stored inside. If you turn off external sharing for a Team Folder, or if you move embedded files to a restricted Team Folder, any previously created codes for those files will become invalid.
