Hello everyone!
We’re excited to kick off a new Tips and Tricks series. This series is focused on helping you discover the hidden features in Zoho Learn and how to make the best use of them. Today, we’ll be discussing pretests.
A pretest is an initial assessment that learners must complete before beginning a course to evaluate their existing knowledge of the subject. Typically, these assessments are administered before starting a course, though they can also be included before each topic within a course. Implementing a pretest is a great way to ensure that your learners are ready for the main course content.
Now, let’s take a quick look at how to set up a pretest for your learners in Zoho Learn.
In Zoho Learn, pretests can be implemented using Learning Paths. The idea is simple: Create a course containing your assessment, place it at the beginning of a Learning Path, and make its completion mandatory before learners can proceed to the main course content.
Follow these steps to create a pretest:
-
Create a course and add a quiz, an assignment, or both, based on your requirements.
-
Configure the assessment settings, such as marks, evaluation methods, passing scores, timers, and other relevant options.
-
Create a Learning Path and add:
-
Click Add Rules next to the pretest course and enable Completion Mandatory.
-
Publish the Learning Path and share it with your learners.
Once configured, learners must complete the pretest before they can move on to the main course content, ensuring a structured and effective learning experience.
