Hello,

Since connecting our Zoho books to eTims (Kenya) the "Track Inventory for this item" is forced checked by default (eTims issue?) in the Item creation page for any type of goods.

So when purchasing anything that the company does not intend to sale, either small expense office items, to big operationnal equipment (not able to set as fixed asset in the item creation btw) IT HAS TO GO TO THE STOCK ACCOUNT.

The "Track Inventory for this item" is blocked on checked and it says "You cannot enable/disable inventory tracking once you've created transactions for this item" even if there is not yet any transaction created for it.

And when creating a bill for the purchase we can no longer change the account for the item it has to be the stock account!! when you do it, when clicking save it creates inconsistent errors.

Like "You cannot change the stock account type for inventory tracked item 'XYZ'. Select the existing account 'Not for sale purchased items'." (a stock account), OR "discount account cannot be changed" when there is a discount added...

That behaviour would makes the software unsuitable as an accounting software because it would prevent proper recognition of assets and expenses.

In its current state June 2026 Zoho Books ceased to be an accounting software!

This is impossible and must be addressed urgently!!
