So I have a situation as follows. We have many clients who are all invoiced on the 1st of each month on a recurring invoice for 1 of 10 plans.
This means that almost all payment dates are the same (some people pay late) and that a lot of the amounts are the same.
All payments are offline
This means that ZERO % of the time the Match works as it only seems to check date and amount.
All my customers pay using a reference number displayed on their invoice.
I wanted to create a "Transaction Rule" that matches a "Customer Payment", but that option is not available?
This means, the only way to Categorise a payment is to do it manually and search that reference number, find the customer and search for it again under "Categorise Manually". It is extremly time consuming & error prone.
Regarding your query on the Transaction rule, we like to inform you that we do not have immediate plans for having the customer payment option as criteria in the Transaction rule. We are sorry for not being immediate assistance in this regard.
Once we have an update on this option, we will keep this thread posted on the activities. We hope this helps. For further queries, drop us a mail at support.africa@zohobooks.com, and we will gladly assist you.
We're afraid that there’s no way to do that at the moment, but the good news is that our development team has noted down this as a feature request, and you can expect this in our future updates. Unfortunately, we can't commit any timeframe for the availability at the moment. However, we make sure that we keep this space updated as soon as this feature goes live.
For any further queries or assistance, please write to support.usa@zohobooks.com. We'd be happy to help.
Have written support same issue, in the mean time, since this is a year old with little to no progress would a workflow rule not fix this for us? If so how do we go about setting up such a workflow - it would save much time on manual allocation which is pretty straight forward - that translates to no reason for the delay on a solution. Be it a bank rule or a workflow rule. Thanx for taking the time to answer diligently with a solution shortly.
In response to your request,we would like to let you know that the requirement has been acknowledged as feedback already, and we assure you that we will give priority to updating this thread once we have this option in future updates of Zoho Books. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this regard.
This should absolutely be a standard feature, and it sounds like a very easy fix.
If I am able to create a transaction rule for text that contains a particular word, and categorize as a "Sales without Invoice" I should also be able to categorize as a "Customer Payment". Please refresh this request with your developers.
it is annoying when we have to manually classify hundreds of customer Payment per month, while there is no basic ability to utilize transaction rule feature to process this basic use-case of an accounting system.
Thank you for posting your requirement in our forum.
We are elated to know about your interest in Zoho Books. We will definitely assist you with your queries but before that I would like to apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
