Two independent databases

I'm starting a nonprofit that deals with both donors and clients who we collect sensitive information on. We cannot store our donors and clients in the same database - they need to be in completely different file sets and we need to be able to back up both donor and client databases separately. Is that possible with this product and if so, how would that be implemented?
