tying "Reports To" field to other records in CRM

tying "Reports To" field to other records in CRM

Is there a way to allow contacts to be connected via the "reports to" field?  I would like to be able to look at a contact and see who they report to and from that field go directly to the manager's contact information.  This would theoretically allow an org chart to be created within a specific account.
