Unable to delete/edit fields after selecting YES, DELETE NOW

Unable to delete/edit fields after selecting YES, DELETE NOW

I follow the instructions to delete a custom field, I click YES, DELETE NOW, the operation proceeds, but the field is still there.
 
Also, not albe to create new fields, keeping getting the message: "
  • You cannot create this field. You can create only a maximum of 60 String fields/module (which includes Text, Pick List, Multiselect Pick List, Email, Phone, Text Area, URL, and Auto Number fields). For more details, refer here."
 
BEYOND FRUSTRATED >>>>>> WASTED A WHOLE DAY TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT, SWITCHED BROWSERS A FEW TIMES, SIGNED IN AND OUT, RESTARTED COMPUTER, SIGNED IN FROM A DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS, ETC. NOTHING WORKED. CONSIDERING GOING TO A DIFFERENT CRM OVER THIS, AFTER USING ZOHO FOR 2 YEARS.
