I was using K-9 on Android on both a phone and a tablet. Both started getting flaky.
So I am trying to switch to built-in email app on android tablet. It tells me my username and password are wrong.
I changed the password and used the new pwd and I still get the error.
I am hoping I can use the android browser to check my zoho mail... not happy, but can survive for a few days until things are worked out. But otherwise if android browser cannot check my zoho mail, then I no longer have mobile access to my inbox. Very very unhappy about that.

PS I tried using the default browser on my VM phone but that didn't work. Looks like I'm locked out of reading my email from my phone. So, do I go back to gmail, or find another imap-based email service?
PPS I was able to get mail into Thunderbird if I use my email address I originally signed up with as my username. That is, let's say my username is
abcdefghi@zoho.com but I originally signed up with
abcdefghi@gmail.com. Then, when I set up the Thunderbird account, I set the username as abcdefghi2gmail.com - I don't know if that would fix the mobile device problem.
