Unable to switch existing AWS RDS connection to DataBridge after moving RDS behind VPN
Hi everyone,
I’m facing a problem with an existing Zoho Analytics setup and would like to know the best migration path.
Originally, my Zoho Analytics connection to AWS MySQL RDS was configured using direct public access to the RDS endpoint. Everything worked perfectly — all dashboards, reports, queries, and data imports were already built and running in production.
Recently, due to infrastructure/security changes on AWS, the RDS instance is no longer publicly accessible and is now protected behind a VPN/private network.
Because of that, I had to install and configure a Zoho DataBridge, which is working correctly.
The problem is:
When I edit the existing cloud database connection, there is no option to enable/select DataBridge for that connection anymore.
The old connection edit screen only shows the original cloud connection settings and does not allow switching to DataBridge.
However, when I create a brand new test connection, the DataBridge option appears normally and works correctly. I successfully tested the connection through DataBridge.
So my questions are:
- Is there any way to convert or migrate an existing cloud database connection to use DataBridge?
- Is there any hidden/admin setting for this?
- If not possible, what is the best way to preserve all existing dashboards/reports?
- Can I export/import dashboards and reports into a new project connected via DataBridge?
- Since the database itself did not change at all (same hostname structure, same database name, same tables, same schemas, same column names), is there an easier migration method?
My main concern is avoiding the need to rebuild all dashboards and reports from scratch.
For reference:
- Database: MySQL on AWS RDS
- Old setup: direct public RDS access
- New setup: private RDS behind VPN using Zoho DataBridge
- DataBridge itself is working correctly
