Undesireable clutter in Writer: The "ruler" -- don't default ruler to 'on'. Allow user to turn ruler 'on/off'

Zoho Writer suffers from 'clutter syndrome' -- too many buttons and bars and distractions.... i.e. clutter.  Please, on behalf of humans all over the world that might try to use Zoho Writer (and other apps), allow the user to turn off unwanted visual elements. 

A good example:  It is a complete distraction and waste of valuable screen space to have the stupid ruler showing all the time.  Hello?
