Hello everyone!
Buttons in Zoho CRM allow you to extend the default CRM capabilities for your bespoke business needs. It provides the flexibility to connect to any third-party application to perform necessary actions.
Wouldn't it be better, if those buttons gather the location details of the users who use them? For example, the action by a field agent during a site visit can be checked against their location authenticity.
Yes, that is what we are going to offer. Moving forward, Buttons can collect the users' location coordinates for the CRM operations team to define their business cases.
What does this option do?
When you place a button on the Create/Clone Page, Edit Page, View Page or Related List, whenever users access this button from CRM's native mobile app, a pop-up screen asks for their consent to collect their location's coordinates.
What happens when the users consent?
When the users consent, the button collects their location's coordinates and appends that data to the payload. If the users' location services are not turned on in their mobiles, a pop-up asks them to turn on their device's location services.
What happens when they do not consent?
They can still use the button's intended purpose without allowing to collect their location info.
Do all buttons collect location data when this option is enabled?
No, this option is only for buttons whose action is executing a function.
This update will go live next week. Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
