Updates regarding Twitter API support for Zoho Social
Hey everyone,
Twitter recently announced that they'll discontinue free access to the Twitter API V2 and 1.1 starting February 9 and replace that with a paid basic tier. It has now been extended till February 13th. This is to prevent scammers and opinion manipulators from exploiting the platform as there is currently no verification process involved in using these APIs.
What's a Twitter API?
It's the Application Programming Interface, which can be used to programmatically retrieve and analyze Twitter data. It acts as the connector between two applications and is what facilitates publishing different types of content on your Twitter profile from Zoho Social.
Status of Twitter API support for Zoho Social
We understand that Twitter is one of the most integral social media networks that businesses rely on. On an average, around 2.44 million API calls are made to Twitter from Social. We have an excellent relationship with Twitter and this new change will not affect the integration in Zoho Social. You can continue publishing on your Twitter profiles without any hassle. We're also working closely with their team in identifying the next course of action.
We'll update here as soon as we have more information on this. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to support@zohosocial.com or add them as comments here.
