Updating/Adding an Account when in potentials - Zoho not forcing required Account fields

I am trying to keep from creating an account until a potential has actually converted to a client. To do so, I made the Account Name field optional in potentials.  This works fine.  Then, when I later want to create an Account, I edit the potential to add an account name.  Zoho warns me that it will create a "new account" if one does not exist -also fine.  What it does not do is open up the Account "conversion" dialogue - like it does when you convert a lead. And so, it does not force required field entry (as it does with Lead conversion).  As a result, I get an Account created with none of our required information.

This would seem to be a bug.  When a new account is "created" the required field logic should be invoked.

Am I missing a setting that would force this required field entry in the Potential section?
