One challenge I frequently encounter is the need to create multiple versions of the same report—one for yearly data, another for quarterly data, another for monthly, and so on. While this works, it leads to unnecessary duplication, making maintenance cumbersome. A simple tweak to a report requires updating all versions individually, adding to the workload.
To streamline this, I propose a User Filter for Date Dimensions, allowing users to dynamically switch between different time granularities (e.g., Year, Quarter, Month) within a single report.
The Current Challenge
Zoho should introduce a User Filter that allows users to dynamically change the time granularity within a report. The filter would function similarly to existing user filters but would control the aggregation level of the date field.
Imagine a sales performance dashboard where users typically view revenue by Year but occasionally need to drill down to Quarterly or Monthly trends. Instead of maintaining separate reports, a single report could include a “Date Granularity” filter, enabling seamless toggling between time periods.
