Users can't' verify their accounts

I'm using CRM and Tasks/Projects. When I add a new user, the person gets a link, but when they follow the link they are asked to create a new account and a trial of the Zoho software. I need them to be able to log in and activate their accounts. Does anyone know what the problem is?
