Using a Unique Identifier instead of a Company Name in the Account Name field

I may need to keep a Unique ID number in the ACCOUNT NAME field.

Other than the letters for sorting the records at the bottom of the page not being very useful, does anyone see any other limitations of using a Unique ID in the ACCOUNT NAME fields
