Validate within Contact Information question type

Validate within Contact Information question type

I appreciate that Contact Information is a question type. However, is there a way to validate specific questions within that question type? For example, phone number and email? I understand I can make separate short answers for these, but I don't want to lose the historical survey data. Thanks!
