View or hide selected records

I'm new to Zoho and databases in general. I get how to create forms, reports etc, edit records and so on. This question is going to seem pretty basic I'm sure, but what must I do to simply view or hide a record within a report? I'd hoped that there would be a checkbox available that alows the record to view or not. Any help with this greatly appreciated.
