VO 3.2 can't invite outside person into a scheduled event

I am trialling the VO 3.2 plus Service Pack, when I create a scheduled event in my calander, the expectation is to also invite clients and or customers to the calander event, I would do this by sending them a email via the VO interface (just like I would do in MS Office 2003). However I am not able to do this, instead it only lets me invite local users to the system with-in the Organization and not external people, not even through my contacts does this interface let me do this... If the Calander module within VO is not able to do this then the total product is rendered useless for my application of work. Does the Calander module allow me to invite external people or people within my contacts lists or not? If yes, then how do I go about doing this task succesfully? and If not, then why not? and when will this issue be resolved. The rest of the product (VO 3.2) looks good however, and could be much improved I am sure, but let's start with my quirey above first.Thanks!
