VO integration and database quuestions

Can VO be integrated with other products?.
I am testing it and think its is really a great product. I am also interested in HelpDesk. So it will be wonderful if both products could work together, means VO Contacts <=> HelpDesk Customers, VO users <=> HelpDesk Staff.

I note that products use embedded mySQL database. It would be great if we can select the mySQL server location (ip address:port), so existing mySQL installations could be reused.
